ok...there's been something i've wanted to ask anyone who might read this, as it is a quandry i've been wrestling with and would like some opinions.  i'm not trying to point fingers or anything in anyway, and don't think i'm coming across that way, but i'm just wondering ( Read more... )

It's Me! anonymous November 14 2006, 00:26:13 UTC
Hey Holly, it's me, Christina.. I bet you thought I had forgotten all about your online journal you got here... but not true.. I've been following along with all your posts still.. wow.. I think I know what this one is about... It was a pretty intense day for Praise Team eh? Hmm.. I'm really not sure what to say.. I think you raise a good option here for what should maybe be done.. have you voiced this opinion to Mr. U? It might be helpful... in a big way... good luck... I kinda wish now I had gone to that meeting today... but I figured no one ever listened to my opinion last year.. so why would they this year.. oh well.. I guess we both have our own problems and struggles with the Praise Team/the members of the Praise Team/the leader of the Praise Team... grrr.. why won't this thing go awayyyy !

yes it was a very intense day for praez teime. you say you think i raise a good option? i'm not really sure i had options in mind as i asked this question...i was just wondering if its worth it or if it's good in comparison to ne rien. i don't think this thing will go away,...it's here now, and wether or not it's good or bad it's with us, but in order to make it better sometimes we gotta let go. i know that's crazy coming from me but i'm working on it. :)

To make a quote your brother would make, Spock said at the end of the third Star Trek movie that "The lives of the many outweigh the lives of the few" as he sacrificed himself to save the Enterprise from doom. So in the same way, I think we need to weigh the amount of lives that are being impacted negatively and positively and weigh them out.

But that's hard to quantify, because then you have to consider all the negativity about Christianity that someone with bad feelings about it will share with others. But the same goes for the positivity that someone with a good experience with Christianity will spread. So it's really hard to tell, but I think in the end it comes down to "Is this IMPACT group being more of a benefit or a hinderance to outsiders?"

That being said, you have to allow a bit of room for conflict and problems within the group, but there is a limit to everything and if it's really that horrible, eventually a line has to be drawn.
