Dean’s about ready to freakin’ lose it when Sam finally shows up.
“Where the hell have you been?” he thunders as Sam shuts the door. The deal’s due in two hours. Sam’s been gone for three.
Sam smiles, all peace and warmth. “You don’t have to be afraid anymore, Dean. I broke the deal.”
It feels wrong, like when he woke up in the hospital before Dad died. Dean swallows. “What did you do?”
“Made a few sacrifices. But it was worth it. You’re safe now.” Sam’s smile hardens, and his eyes flash yellow. “Nobody’s ever gonna hurt you again.”
