All sorts of turkeys this holiday

First, Thanksgiving: It was a semi-typical holiday here. My grandfather brought over parts to the lathe he's been giving my father for a few years now; as he cleans his apartment, he comes across more and more bits and pieces. I can't be completely certain, but your description almost sounds like what I went through when I had a kidney stone a number of years ago. (If you want more details, I wrote about it; the tag is "kidneystone.") Do you feel like you are being stabbed from the inside out?

No, and it's not in my back, which is where I think kidney stones happen (yes/no?). Also, it's mostly discomfort, not pain exactly. Also, it does appear to have moved, which would go along with some sort of intestinal blockage.

Well, the pain from my stone hit me on my right side, just below my ribcage, and toward the back. I don't know what to suggest if it is intestinal blockage, except that it's probably not going to feel too good when it finally works its way all the way to the end.

I know! I have no idea what's in there--it's not like I'm eating things without chewing them. Also, with what the doctor prescribed--milk of magnesia (ugh)--things, uh, weren't really sticking around, though they must have bypassed whatever's in there. Really strange.

I've never heard good things about kidney stones, and a classmate of mine kept getting them last semester. Sorry you had to go through that too.
