I went to a first birthday party today. It was for the son of my friends Tim and Vicki. It's so hard to believe that Oliver is a year old! Maple syrup cake sounds freaky...

Please. I am little miss flaky-pants. I forget everything I think is important at the time. (I actually take notes at work sometimes when I really want to remember anything...but then I have to decipher what I wrote!) I still missed stuff I wanted to mention about the party...however, I have forgotten it again...

And it wasn't maple syrup cake. It was pumpkin cake. It wasn't too bad, maybe a little on the dry side, but it tasted like it was sweetened with honey. I kid you not that Vicki flipped out when I mentioned that--she was like, "Honey can kill him! Babies aren't supposed to have honey!" Then she found the box and it said maple syrup and all was fine.

(I'm just glad Tim's mom sent me home with a slice of the regular cake, which was HUGE--I'm pretty sure it was homemade and it was delish. Mmm, yummy light frosting that melts in your mouth!)
