I'm back!

Greetings from not Texas!

I am temporarily back in the state. All weekend I've been going, this time next weekend, I'll be at camp. And I was in Texas at the time. Mind-blowing.

The trip overall was good, and even some of the bad parts had silver linings. I'll likely go into this later. I survived both plane rides! The first one seemed more turbulent overall, even though it wasn't really turbulent; the pilot just liked to turn to the sides, tipping the plane. Yeah...I get motion sickness. It's not the greatest thing ever. Luckily on the ride home today I got a window seat...all the way in the back...so that seemed to help. Well, until we hit rain, and that freaked me out a bit, but the guy next to me (not a band member) kept talking to me which calmed me down, so that was cool.

Not cool: The weather. Holy crap. In case you didn't know, Texas in July is hot. Like, really hot. Like, you're not allowed to go in the outdoor hot tub hot. The pool was refreshing, though, to the point where they ran out of towels and I had to go up to the front desk in my bathing suit to request more. I hadn't gone in yet, at least.

I'll talk more about the hotel and stuff later, and I know I haven't yet mentioned exactly *where* in Texas we were going; I kind of can't get away with that any longer, owing to the location. Like, my hotel was literally across the street from a world heritage site. I visited it every day in some fashion. Hint: It doesn't have a basement.

The only problem was that I didn't sleep well, so while I probably got more sleep than I had been getting, I'm not well rested. But I was drinking water like there was no tomorrow. I went out and bought two gallons of it at a nearby convenience store. I nearly finished it before having to dump the last of it out at the airport. This also meant I was peeing like it was going out of style. I actually surprised myself by not having to use the washroom on the plane today, but then again the kid next to me was sleeping (read: snoring) for about the first hour of the flight, so there was no getting past him.

It was great to get away and get my mind off things for a few days, but now it's crunch time for camp and I need to refocus. Truthfully, I don't wanna, but I have a lot to do for that. The good news is that, since a lot of stuff that went to Texas will come back with me to camp, it's not like I have that much to really pack. So, that's cool.
