I am thinking of starting an honest, gosh-darn blog for my arts & crafts. Not just what I'm doing, but my musing about self-promotion & branding, random thoughts on stuff I see (in the art arena), my creative philosophy... things like that

Wordpress is the way to go. It's the software of choice for a LOT of pro and serious hobbyist bloggers, specifically because you can easily start a free blog on their site but you can also easily migrate it to your own site if you decide
