This is the first post in ages where I'm not ranting/bitching/raging over the huge WTF-shaped issues I have with this season. This post is full of flail and profound bond.
I definitely appreciated this exchange, the knowledge that Cas doesn't just not care anymore, but that he can't pop down whenever--I loved his growing humanity in season 5, and I like that he appreciated that too, and didn't just turn his back on all that, on "Team Free Will" so to speak.
Gotta disagree though about Sam--Cas evidently cares about Sam as well, as we see again in this epp, and I think he misses spending time with BOTH of them--they are both his friends, and even now I think. I mean, even without a soul Sam seemed SO pissed about Cas ignoring him, he seriously shows the most emotion of the season here and in 5x03, both in relation to Cas. And then when he was all, "that's just what friends do for each other," he seemed to really want to stress that he does have a relationship with Cas as well, even when he had just gotten done threatening to kill Cas, lol. (Though I'm pretty sure Dean has threatened Cas before as well, no?)
Yeah, they're still a team. Cas hasnt just become insensitive to them, he just cant afford to get away.
Well, I think a lot of his reactions in 603 were OOC for soulless!Sam, its something I have talked about before. And I definitely dont believe that Cas doesnt care for Sam, he does, of course. But, ahem. profound bond. :p
Right? I had been waiting, dying for something like this, a little ~moment~ that would remind us that they just dont talk about the profound bond, its really there.
Lol, dont apologise, i agree completely. So many times we are frustrated with them cuz they seem to have a mind of their own. they arent what we want them to be, and as madenning as that can be, its why we love them, its what they makes them real to us.
OT too, but I have to believe that when it comes to dean/cas, the writing isnt what makes them ~layered, a lot of credit goes to Jensen and Misha.
Same bb, I was getting a little tired of his douchebaggery, this conversation and the ~thanks was needed, and long overdue.
I'm glad Dean finally gets that its a two way street. I never expected Dean to be able to help Cas, but asking never hurt anyone.
IKR! I have been waiting - ever since 504 - for them to have this conversation. Finally some gratitude from Dean, it was so good to see him reach out to Cas. sniffles.
I adore the brothers to bits, but they can be horribly self-centered and oblivious to other people's problems. And I deal with it most of the time, but Dean was starting to be a little too harsh with Castiel, and it hurt my heart. This was needed.
