Okay, so. I agree, and I think there are a few reasons for this.
(1) A lot of Pens fans are fair weather fans. They got interested in the team because of Crosby, grew to love Malkin, and now they want the Cup every year or it's not enough

I mean, yeah, I kind of understand it. I'm still new to this, but even I can tell they haven't been playing well. And every game is extra important, and people have been waiting, yes, all true.
But the implication that they don't care, that they don't want to win games, to get to the playoffs. I just find that...insulting. They dedicate everything to this game and this team and their fans, and yeah, they're not on top of their game, and there is probably more they could do. I've read articles about the areas they need to work on, and that's perfectly legitimate. But to sit at your computer and say YOU DON'T CARE ENOUGH is just, ugh. Tremendously disrespectful. I think it's just the tone of the fan criticism that's getting to me.
Completely agreed! I think it's absolutely ridiculous to say that the Pens don't care. As a fan who's had a few nasty things to say (though never that they don't want to win), I understand the impulse that drives us to tear down the things we love when they're disappointing us. It's a really awful attempt to distance yourself from the pain of a loss.
I am sure of one thing: no one is more upset right now than Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

I was a little disappointed when we finally got to see Darcy. But I think he's growing on me, sort of, maybe. I can't tell yet. He's...sort of cute, I guess? But they haven't really been on screen together enough for me to decide if there's any chemistry beneath the awkwardness. I RESERVE JUDGMENT FOR NOW.
I didn't tell you because you were just discovering Hockey at the time and I just set the playlist to keep going. Next thing I knew it was three days later and there were no more videos to watch. Darcy gets better, I promise!
Lizzie is so wonderful and they make Pride and Prejudice very current and interesting. I love watching these vids.
Do you think anyone in the world cares more than Sidney Crosby, when they aren't playing their best? Do you think anyone is taking this harder than them? Do you think they wouldn't turn it around if they could? But some games are just like that. You deal. THIS. I feel you. Like, say what you will about offense or D-game or PKs/PP but don't question how much they want it. THEY WANT IT JUST AS BAD AS YOU DO. But it's hard fucking work, it's not just gonna snap together magically. I mean, even with the Hawks on a six game run of wins, there are bad nights and some sloppy nights and some tired nights. And it's okay to be like HEY BOYS. COME ON NOW. YOU'RE BEING SLOPPY. But I'm with you to say that it's disrespectful to ever say they don't care

Maybe it's because I've been a fan of one sports team most of my life, but to me my sports teams are like my family: sometimes they fuck up or do stupid shit or disappoint you, but they're yours. You want the best for them, of course, but when it's not in the cards, you're there for them.
I JUST WANT MY BABIES TO BE HAPPY. because you know, right now, somewhere in Pittsburgh, Sidney Crosby is analyzing every little thing that went wrong and every way he could have been better, and it kind of kills me.
I get that though. I mean, I was never a big Chiefs or Royals fan but I live in KC and most of this city loves them to the death. No matter what.
YOU KNOW HE IS THO. THAT'S THE WORST. I can't. My heart. When I think about his awkward little face and just--he probably has it all just sitting on his shoulders and this makes me sad.
But being a Sox fan isn't a fair weather thing, and even when they're doing poorly, you boo the other team and keep cheering on your boys. And maybe get a beer refill.
Jeez Louise, you'd think that being a proper fan of any team in any sport wouldn't be a fair weather thing. :(
