"The beginning of the end..."

So there's an ice storm moving into Oklahoma, and around 10 or 11, it's supposed to start sleeting and get really, really bad. I'm not sure how bad this storm is in comparison to ice storms in other places, but for us wimps here in Oklahoma, it's pretty bad. Everyone is freaking out; The shelves at Wal-mart looked ransacked, the EMSA buses bought ( Read more... )

Haha, yeah. Sounds like you guys have had quite a full winter so far. Hopefully you don't have any more storms.

The problem with Oklahoma is that our weather is psychotic. I'm not even kidding. Yesterday it was in the high 60s, and one of the nicest days we've had recently. Great weather. I wore short sleeves, even, and was fine. But now today, it's something around 19 degrees and there's solid ice out on the roads. This is the way it always is too. My dad was talking the other day, and he said, "Well, you know, if you don't like the weather in Oklahoma, wait a day and it'll change." Which is true.

We do have nice summers though.

Wow, an ice storm? Geez. I never imagined Oklahoma getting anything like that, but maybe that's because you guys are closer to the equator than chilly old Illinois (wow, I could call it Chillinois... ha sorry, blame the seasonal affective disorder), so I probably just assumed it was always warm and nice.

Still, though, wow. I hope everything turns out all right, and the concert too. I would hate to miss something like that.

I know this song by Tom Petty called "Mary Jane's Last Dance," I don't know if you've ever heard it, it's a good song, and I was noticing the verse parts of the song sound similar to "Dani California." Ha, I just felt like pointing that out, since it seemed relevant. :D

Well, like I said, I hope everything turns out okay. This weather totally sucks, doesn't it?

Haha, yeah. We're very seasonal. Hot summers and cold winters.

But yes, the concert has officially been postponed. I'm just thankful it wasn't cancelled.

Well, I'm pretty convinced this whole weather deal lately can be handed to global warming. I've heard El Nino, which I guess could be some of it, but global warming has become such an issue lately. And the weather has been weird like everywhere. Today here, it wasn't even cold out. A bit on the chilly side, but it was also real balmy and humid. So weird.

Oh, wow, I always thought 'postponed' and 'cancelled' meant the same thing haha. At least you'll still get to see them, though. :D

Haha, yeah. I'm excited, even though it'll probably be months from now that they come back since they've got a scheduled tour planned out.
