Why is it that secretaries and other administerial types insist on sending all e-mails with complex HTML formatting? I would just configure my mail program to render all e-mail as plain text, but ironically that sometimes makes it harder to read due to the extensive use of HTML as opposed to normal plain text conventions (using * for bullet points ( Read more... )

If you asked that to a secretary or administerial type, they would ask, "What's HTML formatting?" They see the formatting options in their mail client, and it never occurs to them that anybody might see something other than exactly what they see.

You mean my purple script font signature and pink paisley background don't look nice on everyone's computer screen?

Okay, I suppose it was a lame excuse, even if it is true.

Some people are just a bit lacking in sense in that area.
