I'm glad to hear that the surgery went well. Take it easy and don't fret overmuch about the downtime - it's only natural.

See you at Gally?

You're right about not fretting too much about the downtime since that's something I tend to do. I can't seem to just take it easy and tell myself, "It's okay to take time off if you need it."

I definitely plan to be at Gally one way or another. I am thinking about having someone drive me down and drive me home at the end so that stressful element will be out of the way at least. I'd share a room with Lee, I've got that planned out. But the one thing that's absolutely 100% sure is that I must keep well-fed, and I'll be on a soft-chew diet by that point (scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, stuff like that). Whoa, I went overboard with all the info. Sorry!

You're doing great! AND you're the first person I know to ever get lipo in their FACE! Very cool! ;)

I hear ya...I just started hitting my down days a bit ago. Maybe it's because we're looking so much more normal that it feels like the rest of the healing should be done by now, too? Sorta like the "uncanny valley"...close enough to normal that it bugs. >_<

Hope your weird feelings go away...I've got a few of my own, and MAN do they bug. Do the meds help those?

Well, Tin Man, best wishes from the Scarecrow over here ('cause they tore up my insides, though here's hoping they didn't fling them everywhere!), at the end of this if we're lucky you can get a heart and I can get a brain! *grins* Or, y'know, a working jaw and cancer-free, instead.

(I really hope it's not condescending or anything to keep comparing our surgeries...I just really feel in the same boat as you right now. 0.0)

I agree with this. My face looks so much more normal now than it did for the first couple weeks. I know where I'm still swollen, and where it's still numb and will be for a while, but others might not know. The pain meds can't really help with all the varied strange feelings. I just have to bear those and know that they're signs that the feeling will come back eventually.

Thanks for your wishes! I also wish for a working jaw and for you to be cancer-free. How's it going now with you?

And it's not condescending to compare our surgeries. I know they're totally different, but we both had surgery close to the same time, so it's comforting to have someone to commiserate with.

Recovery is always rough. But when it's over, it'll be better :) Good luck.

Thank you, Dawn! I have to remember that. When it's over, it'll be better. :)

It's the drudgery of going through the same thing every day, without a LOT of changes. Food is a big deal for us humans. They say that even the most civilized society is only 3 missed meals away from anarchy. By reducing your eating habit to an all-liquid diet for so long, it's going to wear on ANYBODY ( ... )

Thanks, Suzanne. Changes are so gradual that is definitely frustrating indeed. Waiting is the name of the game with this, unfortunately.

Turns out the unevenness feeling was some of the nerve feeling coming back in the region of those teeth. I'm having the feeling on both sides now.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!
