It was endearing, really, how...innocent she was. How her world was so different to the one I was used to. Of course, parties and back rooms - and then that experience in Pompeii - well, I had never had a normal life. All the perks of being a spy. I was always happy to make someone else's - a girl was beautiful as Zelda, especially - life more colourful.

"It would be my pleasure." This time, I believe, the words were really quite literal.

Which was definitely good. Of course, some women just said that, but I was hoping she wasn't going to be one of those. I smiled at her, charming and wonderful as always, and kept walking. "I'm glad," I said and then added after a thoughtful moment - long enough to be considered thoughtful anyway, "thought you should never just discount love."
