First, happy birthdays to cpj and react2rhythmOK, now for the advice part. It looks like I'm going to have no choice but go into debt again to replace my laptop. *sigh* If I'm going to do it though, I want one that I can use to play EQ2 (and thereforce CoH since it has lower specs) with other decent specs. I hate to be cliché but I'd probably recommend Dell. My dad got his desktop from there a few months ago and it's a pretty damn decent piece of kit!

Avoid Compaq tho, they're kinda.....well....crappy.

*hugs* btw.

Actually, after talking to my boss who I found out had a HD crash on him, I guess that the HD components aren't proproetary. I just have to figure out how to get it out, which I haven't been able to do yet. Just cross your fingers for me that I can at least salvage some stuff from it. I got that disk from my coworker so I'll see how it goes.

Go for a Dell oneheady November 5 2005, 04:45:28 UTC
I have had a lot of experience with many different manufactures of laptops, Dell is the way to go. My suggestion would be to go with one of the higher level support options tho, as if you don't and you need to call, you will be talking to someone in India.

Utilize the fact that you work for an ISP and see if you can get it at wholesale through one of Jim's vendors!

Heya. Long time no see. Didn't think you used this any more. How goes?

And as for "vendors", yeah right. We still have the same old sucky computers we had before and he usually just picks up stuff through any of a couple general places individually so I don't see any "discounts". May be able to just replace the hard drive tho. That's if I can figure out how to get to it. ;)

Its too bad I haven't talked to Chris in a long time. He had set up an account while we were there, and that's where I got all the parts to build my computer. It figures that Jim is still stuck in the stone age. I guess that's what happens when you're a hippy....LOL

My mom just bought a new Dell and she seems pretty happy with it, but I don't think she uses it quite as extensively as you do.

I stopped writing for awhile but I've been trying to keep up with it again. I forgot how much I missed it!!
