OK - I'll start with your end comments. You're a spoilerphobe? I hope you don't mind if I say that it does have significance that comes into play eventually. *zips mouth closed*
It was short and sweet - but it was extremely realistic, poignant and was definitely in character. It also had some really good lines... this especially:
He’d have to let Dean go because that’s what you do. You let people leave who have to leave. And he can’t go to the crossroads. He won’t start this vicious circle again..
That was an excellent point (and, to digress - hee) what I love about Sam - he would be broken and desperate at Dean's death (whether from this or even before this) but he still maintains a sense of rationality - he would not go to the Crossroads Demon again.
And you also captured the lonliness Sam felt as he was burying his brother... *shivers*

Yeah, I know it will. When it's listed in the show's sites as "Dean's protective amulet", you kinda throw your theories to the wayside. BUT I didn't care about the amulet. I wanted Dean dead and in my world Dean bit the bit one. So yay for me. *claps

Something about that line is just perfect. And I liked the detail of Sam holding onto Dean's possessions. There's no doubt that he'd want something to remember him by, even if memories might be the most painful thing in the world for him at that moment.

Tonight, he becomes the only Winchester left.

The multitude of comments amazes me and I go boom.

So I'm guessing I should stick to sad!fic/death!fic. It seems to be growing on me as my mode of writing. I highly enjoy it. Nothing is more boring than a happy ending, we all need a few wrong turns.

Next go around, maybe Dean will be the one you want to just hold and cuddle and keep safe. Lord knows I always hurt that man.
