So why not pull Alucard from Sorrow?

I haven't played either game yet. And while getting a ROM of Aria of Sorrow would be easy enough, I'd have to hunt down a copy of Dawn of Sorrow if I wanted to play it.

I'll break it down

Edgeworth: I think Edgeworth is your best bet honestly, but you say the voice is dying and I can believe that as I haven't seen him do anything in ages. He is, however, a non fighty character. CO has and you play plenty of fighters. Not so many people who don't want to get their hands or impecably styled suit dirty.

Alucard: I just went through the whole thing of apping a character right after first experiencing his canon and then dropping him a month later. It sucks and is awkward. Also from what I remember Alucard is kind of boring as a character, and he doesn't really seem like Councilor material.

Rune Walsh: I don't know phantasy star, so the only advice I have is that pissing people off does not preclude CR. Negative CR can be hilariously fun if you do it right. Also you play a lot of reasonable people already.

Amiti: I don't really know Golden Sun that well either, so I don't really have anything useful to add here. Water magic is hella stylish though?

You definitely raise some good points, particularly on the negative CR point. I'll go and strike that out and keep the rest in mind.

Hey, this is Dessa, with my AU!Omi (I'm working on my fanfic right now).

My thoughts on each:

Edgeworth
I love threading with him and chaos, even though we don't have the chance to do it much. At the same time, you're not often that active with him, which is probably because of the Cons you listed.

Alucard
When you mentioned this in chat yesterday, I actually wanted to talk to you about possibly helping Shini and I out with our private RP/fanfic we've been working on. We've somewhat hit a rut in our playing, and throwing Alucard into the mix might help us out (the tl;dr is that Dracula, knowing the prophecy would come to pass in a year, Turned Omi and is trying to break him. We're also bringing in the whole Crimson Stone/Ebony Stone thing and making an "Ivory Stone". Most of what we've done is in this journal). As for in Plane, I really have no thoughts. Considering I haven't watched any of the games with him in them yet other than Dracula's Curse, which really doesn't have much story.

RuneRune would actually be interesting with ( ... )

I don't mean to be unfair to Badge or anything, but when you're not feeling it, keeping a character around for the sake of someone else just never works out. Almost invariably, the character ends up getting dropped anyway, but after a long period of frustrating stagnation instead. That said, if you feel like you can revive the voice, I'd just canon review one or two of Edgey's more important cases. I do enjoy watching your entries of him, for waht it's worth ( ... )

Something also to note with a Councilor is it's not necessary to app someone because they'd be a stellar councilor. ICly in-setting a lot of the councilors are pretty terrible at their jobs, pampered by being born into their position and given all sorts of cushy perks for very little actual work. As such, don't rule Amiti out right away, just because he has flaws that would impede the council doesn't mean he wouldn't be interesting in the role.

Maybe take a hiatus on Edgeworth? Usually when I start to lose my voice for a character, I take a break from RPing them for a few weeks and see if that rekindles my enthusiasm for the character. (Unless you're already on hiatus, in which case, uh. Yeah, maybe a drop.) But yeah, don't keep him around for another person because that will only stress you out and RPing him won't be fun, and isn't that the point of RPing?

Otherwise, it seems Rune is the best choice. As mentioned, negative CR is often just as fun as positive CR. He also seems to be unique in many aspects compared to your other characters, so he'd definitely present a whole new set of things you can play out. It looks like the only con is needing a canon review, which doesn't seem too terrible an obstacle. It doesn't look like there are any cons to actually RPing him, so. That's my vote. Then again, I don't actually know a single character on this list. XD
