Okay, so! I'm contemplating a potential replacement for my Councilor slot at planeocracy, since I've been struggling with Edgeworth for a while. I have some ideas, but I'd like your input.
Miles Edgeworth (Ace Attorney)
Pros:
+He's a beloved character.
+He's fun to play when I'm in full gear.
+He has internal monologue, which is always fun to mess with.
+He's my best character for investigations.
+I'd be making Phoenix a lone canon warrior if I dropped him.
Cons:
-My voice for him right now is weak.
-I need to do a canon review for him, and canon reviewing Ace Attorney games isn't all that fun.
-If I continue to half-ass him, it's not really fair to Badge.
Alucard (Castlevania)
Pros:
+He's a good person for serious plots.
+He seems like he'd be a lot of fun to use in fights.
+He'd be unafraid of getting his hands dirty.
+We have a Soma. (I'd be taking Alucard from SotN, though, so he wouldn't know who Soma is.)
Cons:
-He's not social, and he doesn't speak much even when addressed.
-This may just be a SotN high, and I don't want to app him if I'd burn out on him in a few months.
-I'm not sure I could justify making him a Councilor unless I pulled him from the Sorrow games.
Rune Walsh (Phantasy Star)
Pros:
+He's a snarker. I'm good at playing snarkers.
+Like Alucard, he would have no issue with getting his hands dirty.
+He's a badass magic-user. I don't have any of those right now (Ky and Akihiko don't count).
+The closest thing to a Jerk With a Heart of Gold I have at Planeocracy is Lockon, and that's just a facade he sometimes dons.
+He'd bring access to the Algol solar system with him, which is a really cool setting.
Cons:
-He might piss off more people than he gets along with, which could lead to trouble regarding CR.
-I haven't played Phantasy Star IV in YEARS. A canon review would be all but necessary.
Amiti (Golden Sun)
Pros:
+He'd make a fantastic Councilor.
+He's a nice guy, though he can be judgmental at times.
+He uses water. I don't have any water mages.
+Yet another Councilor who'd be willing to walk into the fray.
+Insight could have some interesting uses in RP.
Cons:
-He's remarkably similar to Ky in terms of personality.
-This might be a high coming off Dark Dawn that would burn out in a few months.
