Some info about my design choice, inspiration, and materials for my pouch.

Embroidered alms purse update
I have been working away on the fine split stitch embroidery portion of my project, and have progress to show.

Further evidence of not being dead.
Astonishing as it may seem, especially to those who would rather apply fork to eyeball than commit embroidery, I did find the long process of doing a large amount of embroidery in one colour rather boring. Astonishingly, not dead.
Despite having not posted for... wait for it... nearly 2 years. Oh my goodness, how crap am I? (Don't answer that).

Gah!
I always have problems with putting stuff behind the cut on lj, which pisses me off royally. Sorry about the last one - the pics were all supposed to be behind the cut, so that they didn't download automatically, but nooo, lj buggered it up for me again.
One of these days, I will figure it out, but until then - gah! -
Progress!
It way be quiet on the internet front, but I have been beavering away behind the scenes, and there is actual progress on the Elizabethan redwork coif.

New frock!
Well, nearly.
I needed a middle-class summer frock. It was supposed to be finished in time for Yule, but wasn't, and then was supposed to be ready for 12th Night, but I was too sick to go. So the work has been going a lot slower than planned. Oh well.
It's made of linen, which is a bit naughty really, but I am likely to overheat if the temp goes over ( Read more... ) -
Redwork coif
Work on this is going pretty slowly. It's a bit of a pain in the bum to hold the frame the right way, which makes working on it a little bit uncomfortable. Unfortunately, a floor stand doesn't help, because I do most of my work on the couch in front of the tv, and the frame won't fit.
