How to get away with murder

Hawthorn's coming back. Modern Family is surprisingly hilarious. Doctor Who is impressing me - although Sunday's vampire/bug extravaganza didn't fill me with thrills.

I spent Friday painting my scout hall, and it looks fabulous. I shall use the same design and colours on the bedroom of my firstborn. It's all pretty yellows and whites and baby blues ( Read more... )

This is very useful information! :D Does that abandoned property rule apply in the UK? Because there's this run down abandoned manor house on Piccadilly that I'd just LOVE to have the chance to fix up - even better if I can get it for free! I'd probably spend more than 15 years earning the money to buy it, so may as well spend the time relaxing out the front of it instead :D

In the UK you only have to wait 12 years before it's yours! We're so jibbed. You just need to occupy the land and show an intention to exclusively possess the land - like put up a new fence around the property. And then you have to continue doing that for 12 years without getting kicked out by the owner and without getting the owner's consent. Then voila! Yours.

Or alternatively, you could trade a red paperclip online for a house (did you hear about this guy?). :)

I did hear about that! Crazy. That guy is truly a self-made man.

Um. What? Do tell!

BDSM being illegal makes me so sad! :( I would totally sign some paper to say I Consent To You Doing X With Me.

This guy traded up to a house from a paperclip:

Yeah, even signing a form can't make BDSM legal. Funny how you can legally consent to have some guy punch you in the face repeatedly with boxing gloves, but you can't consent to certain sexual activities.... funny. Some might even say homophobic...
