The writing was interesting, but all I feel like talking about right this moment is THAT ART. My favorite artist AND my favorite colorist of IDW were both on this one.

I decided to crop a bunch of 100x100 squares for fun. Aka kinda icons (bases?). Feel free to take them, don't bother with crediting (cropping comics isn't art after all.)

I don't think it's the first time he's faced injustice--why would he be writing social treatises against it--but my thought was that it was the first time it ever really happened to him. Unjustly arrested, almost murdered.

And the words the guard sneers at him are the same words he throws in Optimus's face--that bit about (sorry I can't get up to get it because of cat lap)--about being forgotten, no one caring if you died? That...stings. Add to that that he's just gotten beaten to within an inch of his life and sure the one mech stops the other but no one says anything about it, the other mech doesn't get in trouble, and OP doesn't seem to notice he probably looks a little rougher than he did on intake. Not exactly sweet sweet justice shown to him to get his datapad back. I mean, think about if it were you and the fuzz snatched you off the streets, beat you, insulted you, and then said, LOLwhoops, and here's yer stuff. Would YOU really be satisfied or forgiving? If so you are a far better person than I am. :And omg lovely icons

Good points! I guess I was just thinking that he was so passionate about his writing in the first scene, he wouldn't compromise his position even in the face of death. Which he didn't, if you noticed: he never fought back. So it seemed like he was upholding his ideals, but then he throws them out directly afterward.

Ah, that's right. Well, that weakens my point, but he did stay silent, and it seemed like more than despondency.

I don't think I've fully digested the issue, so I shall refrain from making an aft of myself and commenting something that I didn't actually think through.

Just gonna mention that I'm yoinking one of these (thanks for the cropping, by the way. Saves me the trouble), and the fact that you cropped the one of TC riding a missile makes me really amused that someone else noticed it. xD

Of course, tc is my favorite character :D I only made it into an icon to be silly, though, since it doesn't exactly crop well with so much going on around him.

I need to digest the issue before I can articulate an appropriate opinion on the core of issue, so I'll get to that in the morning.

One thing I do wish they would stop doing though, is this pull and push with character's personalities.

I think EVERYONE can agree that ongoing needs to pick artists and writers and stick with them. I'd be perfectly fine if the kept the line-up from this issue and just stuck with it for a long time.

I'm waiting on the issue that I ordered to get here, so can't fully comment on the content yet, though I know a good bit of it from all the previews. (Damn you comic shops. Y U NO CARRY GOOD THING IN MY CITY)

But just going to second the Mmmmm Dat Art. If the entirety of the IDW lines looked like this, I would buy it all three times. And would want posters of it to fill my walls with. Kon is gushing about Megatron and his poetry reading Sunday group.

I bought it almost entirely for dat art. Normally I wait for TPB versions.
