Apparently it's perfectly OK for GOP Leaders in South Carolina to stage events where people dress up as Confederate officers... and include African-Americans dressed as slaves!  The white guy in the photo on the main page... the one in the Rebel uniform with two "slaves" on either side of him?  That would be the President of the S.C. Um... blue... gray... That dude be a Union officer.

EDIT: Yes, I know some lighter blue Confederate uniforms are out there... but the dark blue first layer and the hat are dead giveaways.

...just because I am I research nut I did research..

...some Confederate uniforms *were* that odd blue-y grey....so no, that's not a Union uniform...(can post links...was dismayed that the hat was right too...)

..so, to be sure, I looked up Union..they were so dark as to almost be black in some cases...*Navy* is the 'correct' term...Dark Navy is what I could call it...

..musta been tough in the old days telling the difference with the ones who couldn't afford the grey uniforms among the Confederates...
