Skiing didn't make a lot of sense to me when I was younger, it seemed like a lot of effort, gear, and weather conditions to rely upon just to break my dad's ribs- a task that can be accomplished much more economically at a skating rink, and those are open year round. I think the original snowskiing was probably just the easiest way of transportation for those up in the frozen part of the world, and someone was happily sliding along to town, and- 'oh crap I forgot about that hill!!! AAAIIIEEE!!! AA-hey, this is kinda fun... wheeee!'
Anywho, I used to love to snowski, until I got old and my knees decided they couldn't take it anymore. hope you had fun!

I still sort of feel like that, but I am happy that I can afford to have a jaunt every once in a while.
Where did you go? Tackle Mt. Whistler?
This weekend Tony and I are going to Vermont to ski at Okemo mountain. My boss owns a house up there and one weekend a year he has it free for anyone who wants to go up there, so our expenses are food and ski stuff only.

You have *so* nailed what I think of skiing! As far as I'm concerned it is a lot of money, time, and incredible work, in an effort to feel worse than I ever have if you don't count the times I rolled the car when I was learning to drive or had my tonsils out when I was 23.
Plus I spent the whole day either doing the splits, or on my face, or my butt. And I never got to leave the bunny slope.
It's great you lived through it and I'm glad you had a good time! Can't wait to see the photos.
