so far, at least

i talked to her again this morning for a little while and my heart was aflutter. she wasn't in the best of moods, but i tried to be there for her and send good wishes her way. things have been crazy lately and the last thing i want to do is negatively contribute. james was telling me the other day how unusual i am to be acting this way, because he'd never stand for some of the situations that occurred. he even went on to say how he found unbelievable joy in seeing the pain, sadness, and regret in sara because of his new attitude toward her in the weeks after they split (actually more like illustrating the emotion with tiger woods fist pump and "YES!"). i can't be that way toward her. she called me as i was heading out of the shower before getting ready for work to tell me that she loved me over and over :) she was tucked into her bed, all kinds of cozy comfortable and ready to pass out. i'm still in love with her.

things have changed in the past few weeks monetarily for the barbacks at alchemy. gone are the days of josh, pedro, and i basically taking all the shifts and coming home with over five hundred bucks for three nights work. when spen left, kelie decided to make bond a barback, but he only filled on nights pedro was off. then kelie decided to eliminate the position of runners, make all barbacks have to consistently run (with no wage increase btfuckingw), hire another barback (to make five total now), change the whole tipout system to correspond with the hours we've worked (work more hours, get a higher percentage), and then take all of us off one day. needless to say, there were a few shitfits thrown, but we've learned to adjust. she initially took me off thursday (which sucked, because it's usually one of the best nights for tips) but when i explained my situation with needing to move to her, she said she'd find things for me to do to make up for it. so the last two weeks, i've officially become the first boy to be working in the coatroom. so many of the girls had horror stories about it, so i didn't know what to expect, but hey, it was money and i still get tips so i didn't care... and so far, it's been pretty fucking nice. i don't usually come in until nine, so i have the whole day off. i basically hang up a few coats, flirt with the ladies who come up, get into dumb conversations with the employees who wander through, and sit on my ass drinking coke and eating sour skittles while finding new ways to entertain myself. i brought a book last week, but since the lighting isn't great, i took my laptop today and played a little street fighter :) some kid even came up telling me he'd whoop my ass in it. oooh, he doesn't even know ;) i wished i had another controller just to call him on his challenge, but oh well. he said wait until next week. by far the best girls that night were two who came in early. they tipped me when i took their coats, made me do a jager shot with them (and by made i mean "can i buy you a drink?" "no, i don't think you should" "well, i'm going to buy you a drink" "you're really sweet, but you don't need to do that" "i'll be back in a minute, and you're having a drink with me"), tipped me when i gave them their coats when they went to smoke, tipped me when they came back in, tipped me when they picked them up as they were leaving at the end of the night, and gave me a couple kisses on the cheek goodbye. there were a ton of other girls who tipped multiple times too, and some girl kept on telling me how cute and adorable i was (and even though she was kind of spaced when she came in and tipsy when she left, i can't get enough compliments ;P). so far it's pretty much the most relaxing job in the place i've had :)

i ran into josh (the kid my sister was subletting her apartment to before i came up and was hoping to move into mike's old basement apartment on elm with) and we caught up for a minute. i told him about the whole needing to get te fuck out of kirstin's place asap, and by chance i ran into him again tonight. he said he didn't know why he failed to bring it up yesterday, but the kid the landlord decided to give the room to had to take off to ireland all of a sudden and they're again looking for someone to fill the room. he's going to meet with his landlord tomorrow and tell him that i'm interested. he said he's generally going to keep it a month by month thing until the lease is up in june, and now that i have a job and my sister can testify to my consistency in paying bills on time, if things go well, i'll have found a place before long. weird how this would have worked out if it happens. the first apartment i looked at when i moved up here, was so giddy about, then rejected on because i hadn't started working at alchemy yet and didn't have a local reference could be the place i'll be moving into. guess i'll find out soon if it will happen.

:)
