Bring Routh Back campaign

Aug 26, 2008 20:06

At the behest of teh_pariah, I'm advertising this campaign:

On The Planet, or more specifically BR.C, fans of Superman Returns have begun a letter and email campaign to WB express their support of Brandon Routh, and their wish that he keep the role. I want to spread this message as far and wide as possible, especially here on LiveJournal where I know there ( Read more... )

I feel so torn about supporting this. While I do love Brandon Routh in the role, I also feel ready to see a Superman who is a little more...confident? Experienced?

Thank you for the link, though! I'll definitely tuck it away in my memories.

I guess I think the Brandon can do the "more experienced" thing if he gets a chance. Though I'd be more resigned than heartbroken if he's passed over.

But there are plenty of people on my f-list who would support this, so I thought I'd pimp it for the organizers. :)

You know, now that you mention that, I wonder if what seems like a lack of confidence in the character is more due to the writers than to the actor. I really did like SR, too, and he does seem to fit the part. So yes, count me in!

It certainly wouldn't hurt to let them know you support Brandon, that's for sure. :)

I will pimp the hell out of this! I think Brandon is the ONLY one who can play Superman. I think it sucks that WB is doing this to him, blaming him for the not so great sales. Keep in mind WB had spent a boat load of Money on previous directors. The same thing happend to Eric Bana after the Hulk. I'll post this on mu journal.

This is why I really dislike top film executives.

They are sure messing up this franchise, aren't they? At least Marvel seems to have a hopeful of direction these days.

So...is this reboot a 100% sure thing now? No Kate Bosworth? No Jason? What's going on? I am so utterly confused? No Man of Steel movie?

I don't think it's a for sure yet. There are still a lot of conflicting reports. I've read a range of things -- from info on spec scripts from a semi-insider about a sequel to SR, to a complete reboot.

All I know is that I would like to see Brandon play the part regardless of what version of the story finally gets made.
