Wow! Are we talking about the same tempeh here? I loved it too, but people are always calling me 'Jawa' whenever they see me eating it (that's like, teasing someone who has Javanese blood, because tempeh is always associated with the people originating from Indonesia.)
Me, I love my tempeh sliced really thin, marinated with tumeric powder and salt, and deep fried until it's crunchy. Then we fry it again with the mixture of pounded chilli, shallot and garlic. Don't forget to add some sugar for the added zing! Makes a good snack to munch while watching TV.

I don't deep fry (we have heart disease liek whoa in my family!), but I'm open to other suggestions on what to try with it.
