Just a little note to my readers (you few, you happy few... :D), I am not cool with the new cross-posting thingee that LJ has set up. Please don't cross post your comments from my journal to your other social networking sites. If you do, I will have to unfriend and that is a sucky thing...

I have never, nor will ever, cross post anything from LJ friends to other networking programs. I value what my friends post in LJ and feel it is meant for a select few and not for the world to see.

I swear, I checked that before I posted this. Here is the 'basic' info:
Facebook: Entry will post the first paragraph (about) of what is written as a comment in a protected entry. This means that quoted text from the actual protected entry in this section of your ‘remark’ will suddenly be public. The FB entry includes a link back to the original blog entry. However, unless you are an LJ user that is allowed under the lock, you cannot see the full entry.
Twitter: Posts the first sentence and also links back. Again, unless you are allowed to see the entry (on that filter/f-list) you will just get an error message if you click on the link.
Regardless, this means that replies to private, locked entries go out into the web to be misinterpreted and remarked on by a broader audience than the original blog author intended.

Would you mind posting those links to the poll? I'm on my way to dinner before the cafeteria closes, but would like to have them to add when I get back so people can see just what the problem is (or conversely, decide their life is an open book and they don't care--I'm just collecting numbers here).
