The cloak body and hood are all stitched and ready for banding. Woo hoo! As I discovered when making up the full circle of this design, the back does tend to drape into lovely folds under the hoods body all on it's own. These are not as small and precise as the folds in the inspiration image, but the only way I can imagine getting those with ( Read more... )

Thankees honey! The black twill tape makes all the difference with this fashion fabric. The wool really is lovely, but tends to turn to 'warm brown' at a distance, when you can't see the heathering. :P

The black makes it pop all over again. :D

Fangirling? Really? *blushes*

Hoping to get this project wrapped up in the next couple of weeks (or at least to the final stages, with tassel making and fingerlooping).

Thank you for the compliments honey! :D

Daw! Seriously, thank you for the compliment. To be honest, I think I am mostly crazy and a little self-destructive (the tips of my sewing-needle-fingers are getting a whole new set of callouses out of this project!).

Anyone can make these things, really. You just have to be married to the idea of doing a lot of mock-up work and then engaged to your needle and thread. ;)Although, this project taught me a couple of important things in both these areas:

1) Making mini-mock ups is AWESOME;
2) Making mini-lay outs (from mini-mock ups) = time saver!

And after all, some folks have been watching me 'get this project going' for almost FOUR YEARS. So, you know, the wait can be a long one... ;)

Looking great!

And have you shared this with the EC group yet?

Thank you! You know, I haven't even thought of showing this in the EC group. Do you think anyone would be interested? I am not really doing anything 'innovative' here...
