harmanhay , Demi, myladyswardrobe : You are hereby ordered to check in on LJ at least once a day until this silly crap in your country settles down. Don’t give your friends in the States any heart attacks by ‘taking some time off’ right now.

K?

*hugs you all*

I'm still in the USA so am fine. Report from edmndclotworthy is that our area has no issues (we are a teeny weeny little village and if the oiks in that village tried anything on, they'd get a nasty shock from the rest of the village!).

So, E, Bilbo and I are fine!

I think Cathy and Demi are ok too - they aren't in a city centre where this sort of thing is happening.

Thanks for thinking of us though. Hugs.

Glad to hear that E and B are well and that you are still globe-trotting here in the US. *grin* There are serious advantages to living in a small town; a tiny population does wonders for encouraging polite behavior from the general populous. I come from a small, blue collar town in the foothills of CA, so I know whereof I speak. There are downsides too of course, but you’ll be aware of those as well (snoopy neighbors, local gossips, etc).

Be well, and safe travels when you head home. I’m looking forward to seeing you again sometime soon and hoping to get a chance to visit you abroad at some point!

D'aww, it's so lovely that you think of us. *hugs* Bess is right, we're in the suburbs of a suburb, and we're fine. I went into Nottingham city centre this morning and saw three shops boarded up on the main shopping street, but that was it. There's been a heavy police presence across the city in the evenings when Demi drives home, and last night, very little happened anywhere (it was raining. :D)

Thinking of you too. :)

Well, nice to know that the looters are being sensible. *chuckle*

I know you ladies are all totally capable of taking care of yourselves. I may be just a little extra sensitive about the safety of my friends right now; I almost had a heart attack this weekend when the US troops in the helicopter were shot down in Afghanistan. The husband of my dear friend, C, is a Navy Seal and deployed in a sand box (we know he’s in a dessert somewhere, we just don’t know which one for security reasons). I’ve lost other friends over there and the thought that her husband might have been on that chopper almost had me hyperventilating.

Thankfully, not the case - but I think it may have set me on edge a bit. *eye roll*

That's a stressful situation to be in. I don't know a soul in the military, and I think I'm rather lucky in that, from the point of view of the worry.

It’s all the military reenactments that I do; they seem to attract *actual* military folks (who are lovely, and some of my closest pals).
