Suddenly Early Sunsets...

Ugh. It's been a week and more since the clocks went back, and sunset suddenly moved from about 5:30pm to about 4:30pm. This has knocked my afternoons for six. By 5:30pm I'm yawning and wondering how soon I can go to bed. It takes some effort to stay awake 'til a more normal bedtime ( Read more... )

I leave work at about 5 and it's almost dark out and the streetlights are on. DX

Yeah. Here sunset is now before 4:30pm. I find this clock change is particularly noticeable because it pushes sunset from 5:30 to 4:30, out of evening into afternoon in one sudden jump.

At the moment, sunrise (if the Sun is actually shining) is what wakes me up, just a bit before my alarm clock. Nearer the winter solstice it will be behind trees, and so not do that. Between the spring and autumn equinoxes it does shine onto my bed fairly early, but somehow it's easier to sleep through when the hours of darkness are shorter.
