5th Wave: The Heaven and Hell Challenge

Thank you to everyone who suggested challenge prompts and showed interest in another wave of Harry/Ginny Fic-A-Fest fics and artwork! An enormous thank you and many, many hugs to magnolia_mama and r_becca for helping me brainstorm, helping me organize the challenge list and providing me with links. Thanks to sga_flashfic, from whom I borrowed the Seven Deadly Sins challenge, which, in turn, snowballed into this wave's challenges. A million thank you's -- I couldn't have brought this together again without all of you.

Now... I bring you the 5th Wave of fanfiction and artwork for the Harry/Ginny Fic-A-Fest!

This wave's theme is Heaven and Hell. Please follow the challenge guidelines below and these posting guidelines for submitting your entry.

Challenge Guidelines

Entries must be based on the challenge you claimed and have a Harry/Ginny focus. Use the links, which send you to websites including Wikipedia, to review the foundation of these prompts.

Clarification for several sections -- In regards to the Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Virtues, you can combine prompts within the respective section, but cannot combine from different sections. So for example, besides the prompts already listed, you can ask to claim "Gluttony, Greed and Lust" or "Chastity and Patience." You cannot combine Gluttony and Chastity.

In regards to The Divine Comedy, you can also combine prompts within this entire section to write or draw "First Terrace and Second Terrace" or "Ninth Circle, Third Terrace and Ninth Sphere." I will add these additional combinations to the list with your LJ name next to it.

In regards to The Five People You Meet in Heaven prompt, there were five different people that the main character met in the book. You can choose to use Harry or Ginny as the main character and write about one, two, three, four or all five of the people they meet in Heaven who have made a significant impact in their life, whether they knew it or not. Or, you can use another character and have Harry or Ginny as one or both of the people this character meets. You don't have to have a character exactly like one of the five people in the book, but some examples are a person connected to the death of the main character, a person the main character looked up to, and a person the main character didn't know but an event between these two deeply affected the character's childhood. Each person and combination of people count as a different challenge.

In regards to the myths, place Harry and Ginny in those situations or have a side-by-side story of Harry and Ginny with Cupid and Psyche... or anything else you can think of.

At-Hogwarts is defined as Harry's first to seventh year and Post-Hogwarts is defined as after Harry's seventh year.

If you have questions, ask me in the FAQ post. Please only comment below if you're claiming a challenge, providing your birthdate for an NC-17 entry, or unclaiming a challenge.

There will be no claiming deadline, but please submit your entry by January 31, 2007. So basically, you can claim up until the very last day. Each challenge can only be claimed ONCE for an At-Hogwarts fic, ONCE for a Post-Hogwarts fic, and ONCE for an At-Hogwarts artwork, ONCE for a Post-Hogwarts artwork. You can only claim challenges for one fic and one artwork at a time. Once you've posted your fic/artwork, you can then claim another challenge to write or draw. If you need to back out of your claim, please let me know ASAP by replying to your original claiming comment so that someone else can have the opportunity to claim that challenge.
