"Harry?" Ginny called after Apparating into the kitchen. "I'm home!" Her brows wrinkled when he didn't answer. "Harry? James?"
She quietly set her bags down pulled her wand. Something wasn't right-it was much too quiet. She tip-toed to the door and cracked it open, peeking into the next room to find…nothing.
Stepping into the lounge, she found the first bit of evidence that they had been home sometime that day-James's stuffed dragon was there on the sofa, and Harry's trainers were on the floor by his chair. Then she saw the trail of clothes: their jumpers were followed by their shirts, trousers, socks, Harry's boxers, and a discarded nappy; when she looked more closely, she found everything (even the nappy) covered in mud.
Suspiciously, she followed the trail as it led from the lounge, down the corridor, and into the bathroom.
When she opened the door, she was greeted by a rumbling laugh, a high-pitched squeal…and a giant wave of water that left the bathtub and missed her by inches.
She tried to look stern, Merlin knows she tried. But how could she be angry at the sight of her husband and toddler son taking a bath together?
