Hand in hand, Harry and Ginny moved over to where Draco and Pansy were now standing. "Hi, Pansy," Harry said. "Malfoy."

Draco noticed them first, and sighed inwardly. "Don't look now," he whispered to Pansy, but before he could finish, Potter spoke. Draco gave them both a curt nod. "Potter and... Potter, I presume," he said, raising an eyebrow.

"Malfoy," Ginny said, giving him a polite smile. "It's still Weasley, if you must know."

"Potter," Pansy greeted Harry with a grin. "I'm loving those tights. They really show off your legs," she added with a wink that clearly announced that legs wasn't the word she wanted to use.

"And Ginevra. What an... interesting... choice of costume, dear. Tell me, what are you supposed to be?"

Mike interrupted Terry's conversation with Ron Weasley, which in truth was a blessing. Ron didn't seem in the mood to chat it up tonight. Terry gave him a cordial handshake goodbye and headed towards the exit to find Susan.

He was finally getting used to the giant sword strapped to his chest and was able to pick his way through the room without causing anyone bodily harm.

He found Susan standing awkwardly alone in the plush lobby. "Hey," he greeted her kindly with a slightly empathetic smile. Mike didn't tell him what happened and he didn't feel the need to pry.

"Thanks for agreeing to take me home," she replied, giving him a soft smile. "I hope I didn't ruin your evening as well."

"You didn't ruin anyone's evening," he reassured her.

He walked with her towards the lift. "Love the costume by the way. Very creative." He motioned at himself, "This is what I get for having no creative mind."

Susan gave a laugh and looked Terry over. "I kind of wish I would've done something less dramatic now," she replied, taking out a tissue from her purse to wipe off some of the white and red on her face and neck.

"Hey," Kevin said as he joined Mike. "You look like someone just ran over your puppy. What gives?"

Mike didn't look up as he was content staring at an empty glass on the table.

"Someone ran over my puppy," he answered deadpan.

Kevin resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "Thought your girl would be here," he said, motioning with his glass. "Don't tell me she ran over your puppy."

He ignored the last comment, replying, "She was. Boot took her home." He sat forward and rested his elbows on the table, staring at the black tablecloth. "We broke up. Again."
