Millicent twirled the fake tail of her cat costume around in a circle, waiting for Percy Weasley to step out of his private bathroom. She'd allowed him to pick his own costume, but made sure he would spend the entire evening occupied with various other Ministry personnel ( Read more... )

Lisa and Terry arrived at the Ministry of Magic approximately thirty minutes late. It was alright, at an event like this it was appropriate to fashionably late. They had to go through the visitor's entrance since Terry wasn't an employee of the Ministry, and met quite a few people on the way. Their costumes were a bit generic, some were dressed as muggles, others dressed in their old Hogwarts robes. It was obvious that eyes were on Terry and herself, they were dressed in costumes that no one would have an idea about, including Terry.

Lisa led the way into the ballroom, playing with the gauntlets on her hands. "Terry, come on. Stop whining about the leather, and watch your sword, you're poking people."

Lisa looked around to see that Terry was missing, a little sorry for not noticing earlier. "He'll get used to it. He's just lucky I didn't make him wear the goggles."

She waited a moment before answering his other question, shrugging, "Ok. So it's not like I didn't want to bring him here and tell him what I do for a living... first of all, he never would've dressed up as Cloud and second he's a muggle. He wouldn't understand this whole magic thing and he's gonna be all judgmental like..." She started in a deeper voice, "What the hell, you're supposed to be normal, why are you that way?" She cleared her throat and spoke normally, "It'd be so much easier to tell him I'm a lesbian than a witch. It's that bad."

Mike wasn't really sure what to say. He didn't know at what point in a relationship a wizard slash witch was supposed to confess their dark secret. Lucky for him, he stuck to witches instead of muggles.

He looked at her until she looked back at him and finally asked a question to which he wasn't really sure he wanted a reply. "You guys serious?"

She was glad she didn't have a drink in her hand, taking a sip. She would've spit it out on Mike's face. "Oh God, no. He asked me to bartend his party, what does that tell you? I'm thinking... we're done?"

Lisa gave Mike a pathetic look that he happens to use a lot, "I'm laying off muggles for a while. Mish, hook me up with a good looking wizard? Maybe that Jason guy you work with, he's not bad."

Mike looked away, shaking his head, amused at her request. "I'm not setting you up with Jason. He goes out with a different dame every night."

His eyes roamed the back of the room for Susan. So far he hadn't had to introduce her to any of his colleagues, but he knew that window would soon close.
