Kevin entered the lobby of the Ministry with Lavender on his arm. He was quite glad she'd agreed to attend the dull function with him. He could imagine other more fascinating things to do on Halloween night, such as curling up in front of the fireplace with her to watch a movie.

"Did I tell you how smashing you look tonight?" he asked, tipping his pirate hat up so he could grin at her.

"Uh oh, confrontation between boyfriend and girlfriend at a public function can't be a good thing," he said as they passed a very upset looking Susan talking to a slightly confused Mike. "Now I really need a drink."

Lavender looked at the couple as they passed, but didn't know what they were arguing about, so she didn't worry about it too much. "Well I don't know about you, but I want a very strong martini."

Reaching up, she planted a soft kiss on his cheek. "Just don't forget about our dance, okay?"
