Ugh, reading how Dumbledore keeps slipping downward against the stone is such a compelling image. He's really near the end, isn't he? It's amazing how he's worked all this out, in the order it needs to happen. He needs to drink the potion, Draco needs to fail at his task, Snape needs to fulfill his vow to both Narcissa and possibly Voldemort.

Interesting how both Snape and Harry feel revulsion (towards themselves no doubt, though Harry interprets Snape's to be towards Dumbledore) at the task Dumbledore has set them. Harry's going to need to come to terms with the common ground he shares with Snape in book seven, I predict. And as it's clear that Dumbledore is very near death before Snape enters the room, Harry's played a very big role in "killing" him, so to speak.

Do you think Dumbledore and Severus had some kind of magical contract, the way Severus did with Narcissa? I'm inclined to say no, and think it was based on Muggle trust, because I feel like it's a bit more Dumbledore's style. But we shall find out, soon!

Yes. *nods in agreement for the ten-thousandth time*

I also see Dumbledore as a good-old-fashioned Muggle trust kind of man. But he'd better have a good reason for it! M.
