Remus had missed the Patronus, somehow, but once he and Dora saw the Dark Mark they immediately rushed over to St Mungo's at once.

Once they were there he took in everything silently, even if inside he could already feel his anger rise. And the guilt. The guilt he was starting to feel for being off doing nothing while this had broken out was starting to gnaw at him.

But they needed to focus on what to do now. That's what they needed to concentrate on. He just hoped things weren't as horrible as how he kept imagining them by the chaos that had been left behind.

They were late.

By the look of things, between the time she saw the Dark mark and the time they finally rushed into the hospital, the fight was over.

Too much blood. Too much destruction. She looked around, then suddenly gripped Remus' hand.

"Lucius. Come on, this way! Whatever else, most likely the gist of the damage will be on the way to his room."

Giving her hand a small squeeze, he started to walk with her along the hall. He was out of words, just taking everything in for now.

Halls stained with blood, sticky against shoes. Someone cleared a path through but it's impossible to walk without getting some on you.

Fur stuck to the floor.

Brown fur, coarse and stiff.

Black fur, soft and sort of fluffy, matted to the floor.

Tracks.

Boots and hands and pawprints leading down the hall. To the room down the hall. Tracks Moony would recognize anywhere...
