Monochromal (Amalin)

I don’t know when monochromal’s journal was deleted, but it happened sometime after the publishing of the seventh book.
She still has another LJ under the name of amalin, but in June/2008 she wrote that her fandom experience is over. In the Amalin LJ there are just her stories archived.

I didn’t know her at all, but her disappearance struck a deep chord for me. ( Read more... )

This is the nicest thing ever and I'm so glad someone pointed me here. Aja actually reposted that tribute and it's still in her journal here, though I know it's not the same and I still, myself, kind of regret deleting my journal and therefore losing all that post's comments, particularly the just_harry and potterstinks ones. I'm sorry! I suppose I didn't realize how much the post spoke to anyone else but me, and/or figured people had read it and moved on by the time I shut down that journal. I am glad to know that you appreciated it so much, though. I have a link to it on the website I finally got around to putting together ( ... )

Believe me, even now I regret immensely the fact that I never managed to comment on that post. Maybe it was just laziness, or the fact that I still don’t feel comfortable enough with my English. Or simply that I would have commented something along the lines of “Amen!” and be done with it, because you just summed up everything and there was nothing else to add. But I was sorely tempted to ask you to translate your post into Italian (my native language) because I sort of needed to take hold of it, to seize every single nuance and word and line and reference. It’s the same feeling I get when I read a really good story, the one that pointed me towards translation and not original writing since the beginning of my fandom experience. Sometimes I write as well, but I’m translator at heart and I know that ( ... )
