The full skirt of her Muggle dress whips against her legs. It is red. She knows she will never again wear white. She will never walk down the aisle to the altar of sacrifice. She has had enough of possession to last a lifetime.

Oh goodness, that was just lovely!
And that quote seems to intimate that marriage is like possession. Or love, if love played roles in marriages. I love it.

*nods* I wanted to convey that, at least to Minerva, love and/or marriage seemed like possession because that was all she'd known of relationships...I always see her as being a spinster not because she couldn't catch a man but because she didn't want to give up control to anyone.
