Hermione Jumper from OOTP

Hey, I've been dying to knit another HP related pattern (it's been quite a while for me) and I really fell in love with the hoodie that Hermione wears with the ribbon drawstring in OOTP. I saw this post as I was looking at old posts, but it doesn't actually have the pattern ( Read more... )

Well, there's not actually a pattern out yet (I've looked on Ravelry and couldn't find anything) but the OP posted a really helpful comment later on here that lists the yarn and the needles and even the cable pattern she used. ^_^

Well, the OP doesn't exactly have a pattern, but in one of the comments you can find needles, yarn/colors, and some good pattern advice.

If I were you, I'd message the OP directly and ask about the pattern. Worth a shot.

Hello. I'm the 'OP' that did the 'Hermaroon' hoodie. I don't have very good access to the internet at the moment....so I just may not be able to check my messages much if you want to ask me questions (but I'll try to reply asap). Your comment about using gold instead of the light pink - I had a number of people think that that light pink stripe is actually gold....because of the lighting in the movie....so I think it would work. I actually have a costume card for that sweater and the colours I used are almost identical....except if you are going to use 'Bendigo Wool Mills' yarn, they don't have 'cognac' anymore, but I discovered (after getting the costume card) that colour 'cranberry 664' is actually closer to the colour than the cognac anyway.

As for a pattern......I don't know exactly what I did because I just made it up.....but I can give you some pointers if you like. Just let me know.

The second stitch n bitch book has instructions for making pretty much any style of jumper. I've used those instructions a couple of times succesfully.
