Harry Potter and the ******* ******* (NO spoilers)
Okay, so now that we know the title of book 7, I decided to look back through Mugglenet's archives to see if I could find info that had been released about Half-Blood Prince, to try and figure out when we might see Book 7 on the shelves.
On 6/28/04, JKR let us know that the title of book 6 was Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
On 10/31/04, JKR gave us a sneak peek of a scene from a chapter in her book. Now we know the person described was Rufus Scrimgeour.
Six months after the title release, on 12/21/04, JKR announced that the release date for HBP was 7/16/05.
So the theory that I have come up with, is that we won't be seeing the book in July of 2007, as we'll be getting OotP in movie form. I personally think we'll be seeing book 7 later in 2007, possibly around Halloween, on the anniversary of when the whole prophecy started for Harry, but more realistically, I think we'll get it as a Christmas/holiday present, next December.
That's my theory. It will still be about a year before the final book is released.
