I apologize it took me a while to respond. I'm glad you enjoyed the fic. I was worried you might not, since it was kind far off your original prompt. I'm also glad you liked the first person. I've never written a long piece in first person before and about half way through I was getting so annoyed that I almost gave up and changed the whole thing to third person. Now, I'm glad I didn't. It means a lot that you read the whole thing. I know it was long and def very emo. I was worried no one would actually want to read the entire thing. = )
What a wonderful fic! So many great ideas, beautifully written! As I've said before, your characterization of Draco is fantastic and I love the emotion levels throughout the fic (pretty emotional - fun and exciting new relationship - depressing). Very much so matches with the theme of this fest. You must have had some pretty good betas.... :P
My dear, thanks for your kind words! This fic never would have been completed without you. Now, that's it finally over, I'm going to go back through it and probably go back and add a few more of your ideas about places were I could expand it and didn't have time before. I don't think anyone else would have been able to get through such a long fic in such a short time you like you did. I owe you big time love and am so glad we became friends. <3
Its funny and tragic at the right places. I love how Harry narrated it all, I saw how he realized things but all too late. I love how Draco made him lived.
I felt like reading a movie, I see the scenarios in my head especially the scenes with the bridge.
Aww you are too sweet. I'm glad you enjoyed the story and the bridge scene is definitely one of my favorites too. I actually based it slightly off of a real life experience when I went gorge jumping for the first time. It was one of the highest gorges and instead of even having second thoughts I just jumped off, following one of my friends. When I was in the air, I was thinking OH MY GOD...what did I do? And what kind of person doesn't even have second thoughts before jumping? lol. But then I loved it and wanted to do it again...immediately. I kind of thought that Harry would react the same way.
Oh my gosh! I don't even know where to begin...your comments made me smile ALL day and almost made me cry. Hello to you too, dear in_praesenti. = ) You haven't heard of me before because although I've been involved in the hp fandom for the last year or so, this is the first fest I've participated in and my first long H/D story I have ever completed. Your comments really were so amazing. I'm so touched you took the time to comment so thoroughly that I'm going to try to respond to all of the points you made. I hope you don't mind.
About the title...I am a big fan of Adele, not only because of her beautiful voice, but also because of her meaningful lyrics. I didn't base too much of the story off the song, but even before deciding on the title I knew I liked the idea for emo fest of "watching the world burn together". It seemed perfect for Harry and Draco's volatile relationship, which is why when I was writing and that song came on pandora, I decided that it should be title. I edited the song lyrics a little to fit with the story
