Oh my gosh! I don't even know where to begin...your comments made me smile ALL day and almost made me cry. Hello to you too, dear in_praesenti. = ) You haven't heard of me before because although I've been involved in the hp fandom for the last year or so, this is the first fest I've participated in and my first long H/D story I have ever completed. Your comments really were so amazing. I'm so touched you took the time to comment so thoroughly that I'm going to try to respond to all of the points you made. I hope you don't mind.

About the title...I am a big fan of Adele, not only because of her beautiful voice, but also because of her meaningful lyrics. I didn't base too much of the story off the song, but even before deciding on the title I knew I liked the idea for emo fest of "watching the world burn together". It seemed perfect for Harry and Draco's volatile relationship, which is why when I was writing and that song came on pandora, I decided that it should be title. I edited the song lyrics a little to fit with the story ( ... )

About the happy H/D scenes...

Yes, I agree with you that the happy scenes were much too short. It really was due to time constraints because I wrote this fic in literally a little over two weeks and had the mods grant me two extensions. I had no idea it would be so long and even after it was done I realized that it still felt somewhat rushed and incomplete.

I decided not to include sex scenes and too many happy scenes because it was being written for emo fest. I wanted to just mainly focus on the emotional side of the story and Harry's journey. However, I'm going to be reposting this story and will be adding more scenes to it, particularly the sex scenes and some more happy scenes. My beta said the same thing that she wanted more of them and I did have about three more or so planned that I didn't have a chance to write.

on Harry hating Draco...I think you're right and in some ways Harry did hate Draco. Draco acted like a prick and was resentful that Harry made him move back to England and then brushed aside all his concerns. ( ... )

On the eating issues...The eating issues were really Draco's more than Harry's problem, but I think since Draco kept bringing it up, it finally got to Harry. Harry was already not comfortable with himself, so it just added to his sense of insecurity. For the most part, it really was just Draco's way of taking the attention off his own issues by picking on Harry. Harry just never realized that. As for Harry's emotional eating--I think Harry would binge on sweets or other junk food when he's upset because he was always denied food with the Dursleys, so it would be comforting to him to eat whatever he wanted, particularly treats he was never allowed to have like sweets, and eventually part of him finally learned to appreciate the finer things in life correctly, including food (without always overindulging). Also, I have always seen boys Harry's age put away a nauseating amount of food, so that's what I based his eating habits off ( ... )
