Binding/Publishing ChangeSadly, because of my continued hiatus issues with the project, pushing everything at the end, and the size of the book, the original person who had volunteered to bind this book no longer is able to due to other commitments. I apologize to everyone who was looking forward to having a hand bound book, because the loss of ( Read more... )

Just to be clear about my withdrawing from binding this book. Ani contacted me a few days ago and told me the book would be soft-bound by lulu because that was the best price. She then asked me to do the impossible- take that and bind it in a coptic binding ( ... )

Again, I am so sorry my lack of consistent communication with you and mismanagement of the time schedule (and not sending you a copy for approval months ago) made it so that you did not know all the issues involved in binding this book nor the date I was hoping to have it done by until far too late. I am sincerely sorry the sum of those mistakes made me inconsiderate to your needs as an artist.

I am also further sorry that I could not make the July date a firm possibility. I understand why you would want to withdraw, and you are right I did not manage this end of the project well in regards to communicating with you, and I am sorry both that it hurt you and caused you aggravation and that it cost this project your talent.

There's also www.blurb.com, which I haven't personally used but a few of my friends have had great results with it. The books look very professional.

Viruses from deviantart? Are you sure? I've been using that site for years, and I haven't seen many people have issues with it.

Yeah, it was the only site I was on. It's the fourth time too. Actually, one of the Hiatuses was caused by a DA virus. I lost my entire computer. If you google DA virus you can find other people who have had issues.

It's usually in their adds. They outsource to a third company and don't check for worms and such in the adds. I complained of this and was told to get a paid account if I didn't like it so yeah ^^ Not going back unless I really really need to ^^

Aw, that sucks! I do have a paid account, so I guess that's why I've never had a problem. I've had stuff like that happen to me on other sites though (luckily with no lasting damage) but they don't really care as long as they're making money. :(

Yeah, I just I've had multiple mistreatments and I don't actually agreee with a lot of how they treat art and artists, which is all personal, but it's why I don't want to pay for the site. Paying for my own website and for LJ has been a better use of money :)

But because I'm a free user, I've gotten four major viruses and several minor ones from that site, and it's forced me to reformat three times, nearly cost me the entire art project in 2009 and after this last time I was just like >.>
I can't be sending prospective clients to a site like that to view my art, you now ^^

I'm in major withdrawal though. There are SO MANY fantastic artists on there, it's hard!
