I love J.K. Rowling's choice for the name of the creature. Are you familair with "The Erl-king" by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe? It's a great poem about a creature called the Erl-king who rides in the night, attempting to snatch a baby away from his father. The name Erkling makes perfect sense. I enjoyed this drabble. I'm glad that you wrote something from Fantastical Beasts.
