I can tell you what he wanted to be. :D A bird of prey, perhaps a raven, a unicorn (hard-to-get magical ingredients/unharmed by humans), and a serpent (House symbol).

Thanks. I felt like countering all the cliche Animagus!Snape scenarios that I ran across with something that seemed more in character. I really could't imagine him being an Animagus but I could certainly picture him trying to be one.
