Stargate SG-1 -- I was really suprised by this episode. I knew Teryl was going to be in it so it wasn't that -- I was suprised by how GOOD it was. THIS is the Stargate *I* remember. This is the quality of story and humour I remember. It felt very old-school in a good way without alienating any of the current storylines. I'm a sucker for AU stories and
I agree with all your points. I was so surprised I liked the episode beyond the Janet parts. I mean, I've liked MOST of the episodes, but even I admit the last two seasons have been a little less memorable than most. But this was AWESOME. Everything ruled.
And the maternity leave line... it's so sad the first thing I thought of was Sam carrying Janet's baby. Mostly because of the way Teryl said it. I love your reasoning. *nods* ;-D
I wish there'd been a bigger reunion thing with Janet and Sam. :\
Me too. :-( Mallozzi posted deleted scenes on Gateworld, by the way, that included Janet asking about Cassandra.
Atlantis wasn't bad, either. I was just so stunned by SG1's return to form

I tried to reach you on the cell this morning to no avail. Just incase we miss each other again, the bonfire is happening for sure. Around 9 pm at the knik river exit (well, the beach just off of the exit). Hope we get to see you guys there.
I'm 100% with you on the Sam/Janet thing. I was pointing out your reasoning after the first Marty encounter but Bex is hardcore Sam/Jack in cannon so she is 100% against us. But that little smirk Janet gives Sam at the end was the giveaway (well, if you're used to muddling through copious amounts of subtext a la Xena).
I don't see why the Sam/Janet thing isn't plausable. This is an ALTERNATE reality we're talking about here -- there are infinite possibilities! And in this instance, it seemed more logical that Janet was the one partnered with Sam, not Jack. WE also know that behind the scenes, Teryl at the very least is totally aware of and okay with the idea of Sam/Janet.
Yeah, I know Jack/Sam is way more plausable and is canon but particularly when you're working with AU you cannot rule it out.
The only problem is that canon Sam/Jan does not exist in any form or fashion. I just like trying to throw my fanon into the show, teehee. So the likelyhood of that AU Jan being with Sam is incredibly tiny. *le sigh* That's why I read fic! Though, I've gotten so sick of Sam/Jan anything lately I've been reading only Xena fic, and it's hard to find good writers in that fandom... know of any?
hi, we met briefly at the pirates versus ninjas party :) and in my shyness i felt the most comfortable around you, which means to me you have to be cool :)
anyway i was wondering if it would be all right if i added you to my friends list :)
