I just finished watching a few episodes of House in French- out of pure curiosity.
It's here, if you're interested -and in the off chance that somebody else than me is actually reading this journal LOL

You know the saying, 'curiosity killed the cat'? Well, indeed it damn near killed me here.

I agree with you. Thankfully my country never dub anything but kids movies.
You English is amazing you know! So amazing. I have a lot of French family, and none of them can hardly put a sentence together in English, even the young generation. I don't think they will ever stop the dubbing though, it goes on in Germany, Spain and Italy too, and many other countries.
I'm glad you're watching Sweet Greg in his own voice :)

YAY! ;)

I didn't know that. It's great, really. I wish things were like that here.
I know that Danish -and Swedish, too, are very good at foreign languages, and especially English. You guys are models. I mean, if you can do it, why couldn't we?

*blushing* Thanks :D

Oh, yeah. There's nothing like the real stuff. Even his voice is HAWT lol

Oh, well. They just don't know what they're missing.
Anyway, I had to get this out of my chest ;)

It must have something to do with our country not being very big, I mean France, Germany, Spain and Italy are so much bigger than us, here in DK we are only 5 mill. We have always needed to be able to speak other languages, to be able to trade ect. We don't expect a French person to speak Danish to us, but in France they expect we can speak French, English won't even do.
It's all to do with the size of the countries I think, and an old tradition of these countries having had a lot of world domination. And then France vs England is a bit of a love/hate relationship too, due to all the old wars. Which makes the French have an even bigger objection to speaking English.

You look sweet when you blush ;) But your English really is fantastic! I can't say it enough :)

Of course his voice is hot! THUD! :) Can't wait for Season 4!

Oh, well. They just don't know what they're missing.
Anyway, I had to get this out of my chest ;)This is true. They don't know. But you are so ( ... )

I know 0_0 And THAT really drives me mad.

I guess ... but the past is the past, you know. And AHAH! English language happens to be the future. So, the ball is in their (our) camp.

*ded from too much blushing* LOL

Can't wait for Season 4!
Me neither! :D

But you are so kind and you would like others to know what they are missing, and yet they don't seem to care! *hugs*
Yeah ... *sigh*

Yes, I can see that you really needed to get it of your chest! LOL
It's good though, feel better now?
You can't imagine ;)

I've seen CSI in French, Spanish and Italian. Not on purpose, lol, just downloaded the wrong one off eMule. Being English I didn't understand a word of it. You know the saying. "If you speak three languages you're trilingual, if you speak 3 languages you're bilingual, if you speak one language you're English" Well it's totally true. *is ashamed*
Yeah, and not being able to hear Billy's voice was pure torture. :( I can't watch the whole thing, so they get deleted pretty sharpish. So, yep, subtitles are so much better. lmao.
p.s. I thought I'd grace your lj with a butt 'con if that's ok. :P

Gawwwd, are you kidding me??!! It's more than OK. It's WOOOW!
What movie is it from? I'd remember such a scene if I had seen it *snort* VERY nice derrière :D
Love it. Is it one of your creations? Cuz I snatched it -I'll credit if I use it ;)

LOL nope, I didn't know that one. Hehe. It's good a good one. Nothing to be ashamed of, really -'cuz, personally, I think it's true. But hey, I am French, and I love English = now how crazy is that??!! CRAAAAAZY! lmao

So, yep, subtitles are so much better. lmao.
YAY!

Sorry I haven't been checking my emails, didn't realise you'd replied. :p

It's from Kiss the Sky, that movie is like friggin' thud. lol Adz made it, hence the perfectness. :P

People in England can't teach languages, and that's the problem. I'm more than willing to learn, but taking Spanish for 4 years, and scraping a C at GCSE isn't the best. lol
Never guess what I just watched. It was an ep of CSI and the dubber was speaking after the actors spoke, but totally overlapping. *sigh*

It IS? Wow, I REALLY REALLY need to re-watch that film 0_0 Is it that scene at the beginning ... the one when he's with his wife?

People in England can't teach languages, and that's the problem.Well, here the problem is people can't teach, because they can't speak LOL ... vicious circle. We're stuck, and it's getting worse. French don't seem to be interested in foreign languages -I don't know, maybe they feel it's too hard. And at school kids are not interested in languages because teachers don't really push them, and don't know how to pique their interest ( ... )
