Hadyn had listened to far too many riddles in the coming weeks to this. He'd answered enough of them to think he was seeing riddles everywhere- It was a symptom of something he was sure. And while he had faith, he'd held his breath it seemed like through the whole thing.

And then came the fighting.

It took everything to not stand up and pace. Honestly, it wasn't from lack of faith, but the fact that...Alexander was know for his prowess with a weapon. Elisha- not so much. And there was that whole 'love' business that just made the thing hard to watch in general. Even Leona, Elisha's one woman fan club (donned in a Team Elisha baby-doll tee-shirt) had a hard time watching.

And when it was over, she nearly sent them both tumbling to the ground with her wild and unexpected bear hug while squealing in his ear. For a woman that didn't seem to like him all that much, she was rather loose with the hugging. At least until she bound up to find someone else to launch herself happily at as he got to his feet and made his way to King Elisha ( ... )

"...Oh Great Lord of the Sword," Elisha repeats after a moment, looking at Hadyn with a raised brow. Does he get that in the bedroom now, because it might be too much like a cheesy porno for his liking.

"I'll see if they can add that to the list of titles. They can read them off when I visit the other Castles."

"What? I'm practicing my improv skills." He grinned, though. It wouldn't make it into the bedroom, at least. Hadyn wasn't quite that willing to be that ridiculous at the moment.

"Maybe you should. I wouldn't let Leona come up with the titles though- she has a weird obsession with trying to fit as many 'titles' into your name as she can."

"Is that why the sign was big enough to wrap around both of you, then?" Oh yes, he noticed that. "I think I might be a boring traditionalist and stick with Your Majesty. It's less confusing that way."

He wrapped an arm around Hadyn's shoulders. "Were you worried?"

True to his word, Victor had returned to the deck before dusk Friday, and spoken to Chives to reassure the man he was present. And then he'd made the effort to come watch a king being made- for whatever it was worth. Smirking, a little it wasn't until after most of the well-wishes had made their way out that he wandered over to his long time friend's side.

"You did well, My Lord." He said, making no attempt to hide the amusement. "Have you picked your place settings yet? I would go with something bold."

Alexander was in a tiff, Elisha had been reflecting through all the congratulations. He was really going to have to send the man away from court, back to the outposts, at least for a while. And it was an odd thought that he actually could.

"But what if it goes out of style before the end of my reign?" Meaning before he dies, or gets himself killed. "I'd hate to look old-fashioned, sugarpie."

"Oh, Your Majesty, I wouldn't worry too much about it." He said with a smirk, and a bow of his head. "The king is never out of style, after all.

He turned and watched a few of the others mull about, trying to find a way to congratulate the new King. "You have a following, My Lord."

"You're going to see how many times you can fit titles into a single sentence, aren't you?" Elisha smirks a bit back, though and then looks out.

And does not roll his eyes. "Do you think I should sign autographs?"

Elani didn't always attend challenges, particularly the ones that involved swords, but...well...this one was important. And Elisha was a friend.

But she still has to cover her mouth to muffle a shriek when Elisha's sword stabs under Alexander's arm. And she's inordinately grateful that the former King is able to stand, despite the wound, that he'll live and they didn't just have to watch someone die.

Naturally, she'll be in the crowd of folks moving to congratulate the new King, though she does at least flash a sympathetic smile to the old King as he is escorted away by medics.

"He won!" Leona nearly shrieked as she suddenly appeared in front of Elani give her the biggest hug. Heck, even the needle-eyed twerp got a hug today. Though, maybe she'd better come up with a nicer nickname for Hadyn. Elisha being king now meant he'd have more power to be all cross-eyed and insulted that she called his boy-toy a needle-eyed-twerp.

Even if he was one.

"He won, he won, he woooon." Which was about all she could get out at the moment.

Elani had to laugh at Leona's rather infectious enthusiasm and hug the other girl back. Maybe they'd even bounce around together for a few moments, just for good measure.

"He did, he did, he diiiiid," she singsonged right back. "One for the history books, huh?"

Who knew the mild-mannered Club artist had had it in him, after all?

"Uh, yeah." She said with a firm nod of her head. "Fin better write a whole book on it. Or maybe we should write it- and then make it all about the romance or something."

She smiled easily as she let go of the other girl. "I should have brought you a shirt too." Though she did have the one she's begrudgingly gotten Hadyn when Elisha has broken the news to her about their...dating. Still. Ass. She might not like the baby-faced-twerp, but he could have told her.

Julien didn't often attend Club challenges, but considering he had had a hand in this one, it had seemed something he should see.

Well that, and this wasn't just any challenge, but a Kingmaking.

He may be, of course, the only person watching actually disappointed Elisha doesn't finish the job, though. Still, the man will get a grudging congratulations, "appears you do retain your lessons."

Also, it appears that Julien was right, as usual.

"I like to think I pay attention in class," Elisha says dryly, nodding at the Ace of Spades. The disappointment - oh, he knows you're disappointed, Julien - makes his lips quirk up and he nods at where Eileen is standing.

"She's seen enough death for one year." Especially when Elisha can just as easily get Alexander out of his hair with assignment.

Julien follows Elisha's nod and, of course, he has to concede the point. "I suppose you're right."

What? Even Julien can admit when he's wrong, sometimes.

And he'll add on to the end of that, "your Majesty."

It's truly a red-letter day. Julien has admitted he's wrong. Elisha should write it down.

But he'll just nod in acknowledgment. "Thank you, Julien."

The riddles, admittedly, don't interest her much. It's when the King calls for a counter challenge in sword-fighting that her interest is really perked. She knows Elisha can shoot a gun - but she's never seen him with a blade before.

Her keen eyes follow each swing of the blade, wincing when Alexander drew blood, widening when Elisha's sword sinks into Alexander. When he says the words 'your Majesty' is when everyone in the crowd starts murmuring, speaking excitedly, when the blonde chick starts jumping and cheering.

Lexa, on the other hand, loiters around as people pour forward to congratulate Elisha. Only when the crowd has died down a bit does she approach the man, running a hand through her hair. "Congrats, King."

"Thanks, Lex." There's a medic dabbing at his injury with antibacterial medication, but Elisha just looked over his head at Lexa with a faint smile. "Did you enjoy the spectacle?"

What, him dry and sardonic about the kind of shows Alexander likes to put on?

Nah.

"Don't see why he countered," she says easily. Of course, she can be confident now that he'd won. In the midst of the fight, though, she'd definitely been nervous, though she would never admit it. "You'd already won, and you're, like, badass."

"He couldn't let it go so easily," Elisha said, with a shrug. "I expected him to, honestly. Alexander enjoyed being King." Without really....being King. And that had been the problem.
