Now I know they're weird
LA residents are celebrating the lifting of the 'hailing a cab' ban. Heretofore, it was illegal for a taxi cab to stop on the street and pick up a fare. (And they wonder why everyone in LA drive everywhere!) The radio played a snippet of a local politician demonstrating the "new way" to hail a taxi. She meekly shouted, "Taxi." Happy Belated Thanksgiving
I had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving with my grrls. mystique1 and formlesspassion watched movies and football and ate all the usual foods. I was entering bills at www.wheresgeorge.com, and I notice that I entered two $1 bills that had sequential serial numbers. I'm pretty sure I received them as change at Wal-Mart in Decatur,TX.
Does that happen? Has anyone ever noticed? -
Government does the stupidest things
According to my trusty USA Today (well, it's actually USA Yesterday) the US Mint is spending 12 million dollars to promote the use of the $1 coins. The Mint estimated (in 1995)that replacing $1 bills with coins would save the taxpayers $500 million dollars a year (as the coins have a much greater life expectancy.)
