I FINALLY get to leave for 2 weeks and I am going to head to Alaska. I have to take courses to keep my Broker's license and our buddy is going to hold the classes on one of those Alaskan cruises. Before we get to the Holland Statendam we stay at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel for 2 nights & then the McKinley Chalets Resort for 2 nights. Anyone have ( Read more... )

Can't say I know anything about Alaska, myself. But I did get a phone call from the boss today...their cruise ship just docked in Juneau and she decided to call ME, of all people, with her phone card. I feel so special. She did say it's FRICKIN' FREEZING...though she's Indian, so I guess that's all relative...she claims that it's "colder than winter in Iowa." But I just looked at the Weather Channel, and it says the low tonight where they are is 56°!!

Well I'm from Texas and when it gets that cold I think it's freezing. LOL!

LOL Ive been watching the weather and it says rain/60/50 How funny that she says that is freezing! For us that will be awesome & a great break from 90+ It IS Alaska so I am hoping it'll be a bit a bit colder I was just wondering more about the hotel and such...

I hear it'll be 60/50 and rainy while we're there...MY big relief is that I will not be at work!! I am just hoping Ana & Bill & (if she forms) Claudette let me enjoy the trip!!

I've done the cruise ship thing twice. I just got back from a week of fishing based on Prince of Wales Island. Had a blast. The land vacation in Alaska is better than the cruise ship vacation of Alaska.
The weather this time of year is nice. Almost around 70 during the day, and low near the 50's.
Have fun. I left some fish for others to catch.

THANKS! I'll also leave them. I am just going to take my parents & get off the island for a few days. I am such an easy traveler that I am not expecting anything but wonderful things!!
