During Morrison's JLA run, there was a recapitulation of the start of Giffen/DeMatteis' run, during a brief disbanding of the team for reorganization. Guy gets himself into the empty Watchtower, lounges in a chair at the big table, declares himself the leader. Actual team members start showing up, there's an argument, Guy says he'll take on any challengers. Batman walks up, quietly stares at Guy... and Guy grumbles a bit and backs down.

You can if you want to, but I decided on Simmons for Mayfield instead, so she's not exactly going anywhere. :V
